An exciting new supported living service for young adults

Introducing Acorns

Each human being is bred with a unique set of potentials that yearn to be fulfilled as surely as the acorn yearns to become the oak within it

– Aristotle

A stand-out detached house located close to the train station in Horsham. It has fabulous communal spaces, 6 good sized bedrooms (all en-suite) and excellent outside space with plenty of parking.

At the Butterfly Project (part of the family owned Peak 15 group) we have been operating award-winning day and activity support services for over a decade from our base in Horsham Town Centre. This is our first supported living service and it will operate within the WSCC SL framework and be registered with the CQC.

Acorns was chosen as the name of the house by the first 6 people to take up residence there. After some brainstorming (and some hastily discarded comedy names) the residents discovered that the initials of their six names spelt Acorns. A more perfect name couldn’t have been chosen by those six people, as they (and many after them) take their first steps into supported living and fulfilling their true potential to become mighty oaks.

A progressive and developmental service

Aimed at supporting younger adults (approximately from school leaving age to their mid 30’s depending on each individual) we see this as a transitional service that offers person-led aspirational support and will:

  • support high expectations around what can be achieved in life
  • give training and skill development to achieve those goals
  • equip people to live as independently as possible
  • enable people to lead lives rich in purpose through a holistic, consistent and joined up approach
